Introduction

GIL’s gemmological courses have been designed to improve your knowledge in topics related to formation, mining, identification, treatments, manufacturing as well as how to face everyday tasks in the ever-changing gemstone industry.

GIL diamond education provides comprehensive knowledge and experience to students, they will be able to judge clarity, colour and cut of rounds and fancy shaped diamonds. The course will teach them the use of gemmological tools with confidence and estimating the diamond weight in mounted jewellery. You will learn how to separate diamonds from Syntheitc, Mossanite and Cubic Zirconia, you will also be able to detect treatments using 10X loupe. During the lab class, you can get practical experience with natural diamonds, Synthetic diamonds, Treated Diamonds, Diamond Studded Jewellery and lots more.

By doing our courses, you can become a Gemmologist, an Appraiser, an Auctioneer, a Store Manager, a Qualified Control (QC) Expert, a Gemstone wholesaler/ dealer/ buyer or a Jewellery Manufacturing Production Manager.

Polished Diamond Course

GIL’s Polished Diamond Grading course will give you a thorough understanding of the grading standards followed internationally and is ideally suited for individuals with limited knowledge of diamonds. This course is fast-paced and will quickly bring you to a level where you can identify, grade and price diamonds according to international grading and trading practices.
